The word “Hot Spring” conjures images of people soaking themselves in scenic misty nature pools, dissolving all of life’s fatigue while rejuvenating their mind, body and soul. . .
Okay, so the ambience and appearance of the Sembawang Hot Spring isn’t as great as those described above…
…But hey, it’s Singapore’s ONE and ONLY Hot Spring!
The hot spring is located in the northern part of Singapore at Yishun-Sembawang (along the road of Gambas Avenue), situated within a military compound and surrounded by residential homes just across the road.
It’s kinda urban hot spring style but looks more like random taps popping up in the middle of nowhere. You will be able to feel the heat from the bubbling hot water and rising smoke. There are plastic chairs and pails available for borrowing so you can create your own foot spa therapy.
The spring water is said to contain healing properties for relieving skin conditions such as eczema, as well as easing the pain from arthritis and rheumatism.
Over the years, visitors to the hot spring have declined, with the elderly being the most regular visitors.
7AM to 7PM DAILY
Take caution as the water can be REALLY HOT.
